Jane’s Conquest

Five sisters who have more or less raised themselves, arrive in London and find themselves caught up in intrigues and plots of treason.
The first story focuses on Jane, the eldest.
She cast caution to the winds and followed her heart
Jane Goodwin is the eldest of five sisters. When their father dies, leaving them as orphans, she moves then to London, certain that Cecilia’s beauty will secure her love and a fortune. They are plunged into a world of fashion and society activities and Jane fins herself more and more attracted to Robert Lamercier, Earl of Medwell and their guardian.
The Earl of Medwell’s insouciant charm and rakish facade hide a secret life of intrigue and danger that draws the sisters into a world of spies and treason.
Jane’s intelligence and humor win the earl’s heart but Jane is not sure whether she can trust him, especially when her sister’s love interest raises suspicions about the earl’s activities.
This book was absolutely fabulous. It was a satisfying read from the beginning.
Definitely loving this one.
Cecilia’s Victory

Devastated after her disastrous first Season that almost ended in tragedy, Cecilia Goodwin has put aside all hope and dreams of love. Until she discovers that Lord Daniel Eliot’s stern façade covers a heart of passion.
Two years ago, when Cecilia had her London debut, she was ready to fall in love. But the man who wooed her was a traitor.
Now, two years later she is much more cynical and believes that true love exists only in fairy tales. Or does it?
Back in London for another Season, she cannot avoid Lord Daniel Eliot whose reserved demeanor has led people to declare he has no heart. However, as she spends time with him, she begins to discover that he has a strength of character and a sense of honor that become very necessary when she finds herself in trouble.
But will he believe she is no longer the frivolous young lady who too easily trusted the wrong people?
Book Two in the Wards of Lamercier series can be read as a standalone but will be enjoyed even more if you read the entire series.
I loved this book! Jane was one of the best historical heroines I have read in a while and Robert was a good match for her. I loved the start of this new series and am looking forward to the other books. Jane’s sisters were all great characters.
I waited for this book after I fell in love with her other books. The characters and storyline in all of Ms. Leigh’s books make it impossible to put them down. A definite must read. Can’t wait for Cece’s story. 📚😍📚😍📚😍📚

Eleanor’s Triumph
Eleanor Goodwin dreams about falling in love with the kind of hero she writes about in her novels.
When Eleanor first heard about Lord Alexander Summerson he seemed to fulfil all her dreams of a romantic hero and he became the model for the heroes in her own books. Drawn to his darkly dark good looks and brooding nature, she imagines she will be able to inspire him to love her with a fervent passion to match her own.
Summerson has no interest in falling in love, especially when a woman arrives at his ancestral home with a son, claiming to be the widow of his elder brother. He seeks out the help of Lord Robert Medwell, Eleanor’s guardian and one of the Spymasters who worked to protect England during the war with Napoleon.
While seeking answers, he becomes better acquainted with Eleanor and enjoys her company.
But Eleanor’s relationship with Summerson leads her into danger and he must rescue her and clear his name of the slanderous accusations brought against him before their love can flourish.
Esmeralda’s Coup
Esmeralda Goodwin finds the company of dogs, horses and cats preferable to people. Especially the rugged man with a scar on his face and eyes as hard as flint. Esmeralda, known as Messy to her four older sisters, is staying with Nell in Dorset, hoping to overcome her infatuation with Peter Archer who has chosen a demure, compliant woman as his wife. When she finds a horse whose rider has left it alone on the edge of a windy cliff, she tumbles headlong into a world of smugglers, secret passages, and excise men.
Fletcher Howell, recently returned from the Caribbean to lead his family business, faces unforeseen obstacles that leave him no time to fall in love, even with a woman as alluring as Esmeralda Goodwin. But when a six-year-old runaway slave boy is found on one of his ships, Messy needs to decide if she can trust Fletcher Howell with her heart.
